Hi everyone! My name is Maranda Wills and I was born and raised in the southside of Chicago, IL. I graduated from Western Illinois University December 2019 with my bachelors of science, where I majored in Health Services Management and minored in Business. I love to dance, do hair, and go shopping in my free time.
I have always had a passion to help people to lead happier and healthier lives. This is why I am content with being able to serve with NHC for the 2020-2021 term. Prior to my service term, I volunteered at Advocate Trinity Hospital, which is my current host site when I was a senior in high school and in college. When I volunteered in 2013-2014, I had the role of shadowing a registered nurse and answered call lights, provided water to patients, checked vitals, and stocked supplies on the floor. In college, I volunteered serving in the community health department where I attended meetings, helped assist the food farmacy, and completed administrative tasks. This service term, I hope to expand my knowledge about public health and type 2 diabetes. While service has been limited in the department I serve in due to COVID-19, I have so far been enjoying this opportunity.
