How did AmeriCorps benefit your future goals, in the job field or academic world? What skills did you gain from your year of service?
AmeriCorps benefited my future by exposing me to many different groups of people and allowing to expand my horizon and learn more about the health disparities that are affecting our communities.
What was your favorite component of the NFHC, outside of your daily host site service? (E.g. service projects, committees, member meetings etc.)
My favorite component of the NFHC outside of my daily host site services was getting to know my fellow members better and to collaborate with them on unique service projects.
What was your favorite thing to do in Jacksonville?
My favorite thing to do in Jacksonville was to go to the beach.
What advice would you give to current or future members?
For current and future NFHC members, get to know your fellow members as they are great pillar of support in an unfamiliar location. They will become family, and you will continue to lean on them and keep in touch with them even as the years pass.
