Still Driving Change with a New Name

Posted on: January 11, 2016Chicago

As the Chicago operating site of National Health Corps (NHC), Public Health Institute of Metropolitan Chicago (PHIMC) is excited to announce that we have recently changed the name of our AmeriCorps program from Chicago Health Corps to National Health Corps Chicago (NHC Chicago).

Since its inception in 1994, NHC Chicago has been part of a national AmeriCorps program that fosters healthy communities. NHC Chicago delivers and connects those who need it most with health and wellness education, benefits, and services, while developing tomorrow's compassionate health leaders. By changing our name, we bring more alignment with NHC and its other operating sites in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Florida.

Building the next generation of public health professionals continues to be a priority for PHIMC. We have been able to do this through partnerships with Chicago community members, host site partners, NHC Chicago alumni, and friends and supporters. We appreciate your continued support as we move into this exciting time.
