Hello everyone! My name is Sandra and I'm originally from the Chicago suburbs. I most recently completed a year of service last year with National Health Corps Chicago as a Health Educator at a school-based health center and federally qualified health center. This year, I will be serving as an Asthma Health Educator with Respiratory Health Association throughout the south and southwest side of Chicago and Cook County.
This year, I am most looking forward to experiencing a different facet of health education, gaining more insight into the social determinants of health in other parts of the city, and empowering youth and adults with valuable information that will hopefully serve to reduce the severity of asthma episodes, as well as the racial disparities in asthma prevalence in the city of Chicago.
