As a public 501(c)(3) community foundation, the Scranton Area Community Foundation serves as a steward, a grantmaker, a charitable resource, and a catalyst for change. The Scranton Area Community Foundation leads various initiatives including Women in Philanthropy, the Center for Community Leadership and Nonprofit Excellence, NEPA Moves, NEPA Thrives, and the NEPA Animal Welfare Collaborative.

Asset Map Project
Funded by the City of Scranton and supported by community stakeholders, the asset mapping project seeks to provide extensive resources to address the needs of underserved communities while addressing the geographic gap in services and looking at the digital equity gap. The outcome of this project would be a tool that would identify resources throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne County while addressing some of the common barriers to accessing these services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
This position will support the NEPA Thrives initiative to develop an asset map application to address barriers to workforce development.
Working under the Community Impact Manager responsible for the NEPA Thrives Initiative and the Director of Community Impact, the NHC member would be responsible for uploading data obtained from information as well as researching services or resources that aren’t currently available in existing databases. Based on the input of the NEPA Thrives asset mapping subcommittee, this position would also research and identify platforms or design firms to develop the application and make recommendations on the capacity needed to launch the tool in an intentional and sustainable manner.

-Proficiency in Zoom or similar virtual platforms
Supervision
The supervisor assigns service activities in terms of project objectives and basic priorities and is available for consultation in resolving controversial issues.
Review
The member will be expected to provide 4 reports to be shared with the Executive Director, COO, and the NEPA Thrives Asset Mapping sub-committee in addition to weekly updates to the Community Impact Team.
Guidelines
Member must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance
Complexity
The member must develop new techniques, methods, or approaches to complete service position assignments
Special Considerations
The member is coming into a role for a specific deliverable that is new for the organization. Their individual expertise and skills will guide the project while they are supported by their supervisor and team.

Criminal History Check Requirements Beyond NHC Standard Checks
A PA state background check and FBI fingerprinting report are required as part of the NHC application process.
