Q: Where are most of your members from?
A: We have members from all over the country! CA, NC, NY, MT, IL, MA, TX, CT, MI, and of course Philly!
Q: What is it like living on a stipend?
A: It's manageable! 1. Philly is a cheap city 2. Most of us are on food stamps. 3. We're all living on a stipend together, which makes for a really great support system!
Q: What neighborhoods should I look for housing in? Is it hard to find affordable housing in Philly?
A: Philly = v affordable! Look in Fishtown, West Philly, Spring Garden, South Philly, or TempleU
Q: I hear living on the stipend is tough! Are there lots of free things/food opportunities in Philly?
A: Free Yoga #YogaOnTheBanks & Kayaking @BartramsGarden + with your ACCESS card $2 Museum visits!
Q: What kinds of outside service opportunities have you had?
A: Monthly Service includes working with @loveyourpark, @Jewish_Relief, @BtBsNYC, @muralarts, @PCCYteam
Q: What kinds of professionals have you been able to meet through your service?
A: It varies! Client interaction, Care Navigation, Case Management, Social Service & Insurance Enrollment, Health Education
Q: What are some of the things people will be doing after their service term?
A: graduate school (MSW, MPH, MD), another @AmeriCorps term, @FulbrightPrgrm, @PeaceCorps, and working full-time
