Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary

1. Develop new relationships with partner agencies
2. Help develop and implement a process to serve small agencies that cannot accept items in bulk
3. Volunteer Management to include recruitment and scheduling
5. Assist staff with social media content for the CWP program.
6. Responsible for organizing clothing donations
7. Document/analyze/establish processes and procedures in the Clothing With Purpose program.
8. Assist in maintaining safe, clean, and orderly workspaces in the areas utilized by Clothing With Purpose.
9. Assist in managing the inventory control system used in Clothing with Purpose as needed.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Volunteer recruitment. Managing volunteers.

This program helps low-income families receive free clothing. These agencies serve different populations including prenatal mothers, individuals coming out of prison looking for employment, college men practicing interviewing skills, health fairs, and local clothing giveaways to name a few.

  • Providing outreach to agencies to build awareness
  • Obtaining feedback to improve on communication materials
  • Responding to and tracking requests through online services
  • Identifying new sites to provide resources and materials
  • Maintaining an inventory of supply materials for patients, clients, and/or organizations

Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate

Experience managing projects or processes, Able to build strong relationships, Comfort speaking with others, individually or in groups, Community engagement/outreach skills, Able to communicate effectively with individuals or diverse backgrounds and identities

Knowledge Required for the Position

Skill with Microsoft Office or other software for a variety of data processing operations involving a range of problem solving, record keeping, correspondence, and service tracking options.

Supervision

Member uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments following set procedures, independently, The supervisor assigns service activities, advises on changes in procedures, and is available for assistance when required, The supervisor assigns service activities in terms of project objectives and basic priorities and is available for consultation in resolving controversial issues.

Review

The service activities are reviewed for accuracy through spot checks, through complaints from customers, and through observation of the member at service., The member independently plans and carries out the projects and selects the approaches and methods to be used in solving problems

Guidelines

Written and oral guides provide specific instructions for doing service, Most instructions are easily memorized and require little interpretation, Guidelines are generally applicable, but the member independently makes adaptations in dealing with problems and unusual situations, Member must use considerable judgment in adapting current or developing new guidance

Complexity

Member has little or no choice about how to perform the service position, The facts or conditions of the service position are clear cut, predictable, and apply directly to the assignment, The member must develop new techniques, methods, or approaches to complete service position assignments

Special Considerations

Unusual physical demands involving climbing, lifting, stooping, and reaching, etc., Personal vehicle required, Position offers flexible hours/service formats for members who may need them due to childcare commitments, probation/parole requirements, or other obligations.
