Where are you from? Born in Dakar, Senegal and raised in Houston, Texas.

Why did you decide to join NHC?

I wanted to spend my gap year learning through service work. The NHC's stated mission and objectives were entirely aligned with my values and the kind of public health leader I aspired to be, so I applied.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

I hope to develop my interpersonal communication skills and gain confidence in sharing information from an educator's perspective.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

This position will be my first time living in Chicago and my first experience working in public health, so I look forward to facing new challenges, learning from different experiences, and meeting many new people.
