Jeffrey Levita was born and raised in the Excelsior District of San Francisco. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Health Education and an emphasis in Community Based Public Health.
Jeffrey joined the National Health Corps San Francisco in 2019 to practice his health education skills while helping the vulnerable population in San Francisco. Growing up in San Francisco, he experienced first-hand how gentrification affected his community. He is motivated to help address the negative health effects of the gentrification and the homelessness crisis in San Francisco.Since serving through the pandemic, he learned about the many barriers that unhoused individuals face. He decided to dedicate another year of service to support the Whole Person Integrated Care team. He is dedicated to continue to provide care and resources to San Francisco’s unhoused population through this pandemic and help reduce the spread of Covid-19 in San Francisco.
Jeffrey serves as a Whole Person Integrated Care Coordinator and a COVID-19 Responder for the San Francisco Department of Public Health. His responsibilities include coordinating care, conducting COVID 19 vaccine outreach to individuals living in Shelter In Place hotels and shelters. As a COVID 19 responder, he conducts case investigation calls and provides resources to individuals who test positive for COVID-19.
After service, Jeffrey plans to get his Masters in Public Health and continue to improve health outcomes in underserved communities in San Francisco.
