Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area, growing up in Columbia, Maryland, and attending the University of Maryland, College Park.
Why did you decide to join NHC?
I joined NHC because I view health education as a powerful tool for navigating public health issues and empowering and supporting vulnerable populations. I plan to practice medicine and believe health education and a strong public health foundation are crucial to delivering the most meaningful, individualized care.
What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?
I am excited to grow my understanding of public health and put my knowledge into practice. I have loved learning about various public health initiatives and frameworks in courses and have always been eager to connect them to current issues and support diverse communities. I am also hoping to gain a better understanding of how to approach various public health issues such as substance use and sexually transmitted infections.
What are you most looking forward to during your service term?
I look forward to widening my knowledge of public health practice, connecting with others, and exploring San Francisco!
